It has been quite a week. For some, jubilation and anticipation; for others, self-reflection and disappointment. I suspect everyone, no matter their feelings, shares at least some exhaustion.
Yet the world and the universe continue because humans are such a minuscule portion of it all. Taking a phrase from the Youngbloods’s 1972 hit, “Get Together”, written by Chet Powers, I offer the following phrase that reverberates for me so often
“We are but a moment’s sunlight fading in the grass…”
I offer four Eastport photographic reminders, each taken this morning, of our world that goes on with or without our endorsements.
A month from now, these colors will be only memories etched in our minds like so much else. For all the change everyone seeks, don’t forget what came before us and will endure after any of us is gone from the scene.
Yes, actions create consequences but some immutable of our world are worth appreciating as well.
I thank you for taking time to consider this any other columns. I welcome remarks and thank each of the dozen people who provided me ammo (pun intended) for the obnoxious squirrels or laughed when you read my remarks. Hearing I provided food for thought made my day.
I also note that Harry had an appealing, if contorted, approach to the world yesterday afternoon.
I appreciate each of you taking time to read this. I thank the subscribers who support this newsletter with financial assistance.
Wishing you a healthy, rewarding week. Be well and be safe.FIN
