Amb James Smith

AMB James Smith is a Georgia native who attended the U.S. Air Force Academy before a career as an F15 pilot. A 1992 Distinguished Graduate of the National War College, he then taught on the faculty. He was the Wing Commander at Kadena Air Force Base among other prestigious Air Force tours. AMB Smith worked in private industry before President Obama named him Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia between 2009 and 2014. AMB Smith then taught at the University of Southern New Hampshire for several years. He currently splits his time between Bethany Beach, Delaware and Washington, D.C. where he is President of the National War College Alumni Association.
