I noted when I started this newsletter that I want it to also reflect gratitude in some form, today dedicated to that aspect. As you know, I returned early this morning from Victoria. While most of our time there involved plenaries, I want to share two snippets of colour brightening lives of those in the provincial capital.
My Canadian hosts probably found the weather average for mid-November but I found it frigid. This made it all the more welcoming to see the remaining flowers in the city. The photograph above struck me as perfect to welcome the Thanksgiving season with its warmth.
I thank whomever thought to brighten the city as it made such a a difference for me. I have much for which to thank our Canadian hosts to include the individuals who shared a table at the airport, the conference organisers who worked so hard to make it truly fascinating, and the array of folks who work to maintain the Empress as a perfect venue to showcase Canadian hospitality. I could go on but I will have these shots to remind me of Victoria’s hospitality.
