It’s a great day of national celebration in the United States. Football fans, especially in Philadelphia and Kansas City, spend hours laughing, eating, imbibbing, and joining together for the final game of the 2022 football season. Non-fans spend hours laughing, eating, imbibbing, and fantasyzing about baseball, hockey, planting flowers and anything that ends their boredom with the little brown ball. Even if you are abroad, it’s hard to entirely escape America’s peculiar use of the term ‘football’.
The point is that there will be gatherings of many in your sphere of life. They will be fun, they will be entertaining, and some will be unexpected.
Take time no matter where you are to look at those around you. Or think about someone you haven’t seen in a while but has been a part of your life for decades. We lose those folks to the unceasing march of time. Will this be the final year you had the chance to see that person? We almost never know that answer. For all our determination for and desire of certainty, we rarely receive it.
I wish you a safe, happy, rewarding day but I also wish you time to ponder your wonderful friendships. They are truly incomparable and fleeting with the sands of time.FIN
