It has been ferocious this summer in the Chesapeake region; I know we have had it luckier than so many. Canadian smoke wafting down to eradicate views of anything. Heat snuffing out much ambition. Dryness resulting from receiving merely 11 of the average 24+ inches of rainfall. Yet humidity permeating everything once air conditioning is no longer available.
The intense, violent storm early yesterday morning, however, made its mark for the better even a day later.
The sunrise over the confluence of Spa Creek and the Severn River before the latter joins the Chesapeake was smokeless.
Colour followed colour from darkness into the beauty of dawn.
Nature had more in store, however, as what initially appeared clouds enveloping the light morphed into light pouring out as if an orange juice contained turned on its side to spread its contents across everything.
Finally, nature decided its work was satisfactory for this day.
And i got to witness all of it without the oppressive humidity, sitting on our balcony with coffee, lucky to witness any of this on such a glorious day. Sleep is overrated compared to this show.
Be well, stay cool (if you can), and absorb nature’s work around us.FIN
Oh, Groovy, I could hear them across the Creek. It was a tough morning but they are young. I su.spect they feel pretty proud.
Beautiful location, beautiful pix; morning on the water in Crab Town is very special.
