AMB James Smith will discuss Saudi Arabia on 19 July at 5 pm eastern in our parallel webinar series. Mark it down! Most definitely a topic for concerned citizen.
Happy Monay. We are all lucky to be alive and ought remember it more often.
Andrew Roberts’ exhaustive but charming biography of George III, The Last King of America, repeatedly reminds us how much more fragile the hold on life was in the mid-to-late 1800s. By the 1860s when he was thirty, George had lost 4 of 8 siblings. His own broad brood similarly faced medical issues that today would have been handled easily.
Part of it was medical ignorance. Part of it was misapplication of tools. Part of it was sanitation. Part of it was poor diagnoses. Part of it was fate, I suppose.
Today we have so many options if we have medical insurance. I personally try to minimise what I do because I feel so guilty about those who don’t get proper care. But I try keeping up with those preventative steps that can ease the burden for me, for my family, for the system. How about you?
Have a safe, preventative, and healthy week.
