Cats can be the most annoying creatures in the world…or the most endearing. I guess that depends on every minute of the day.
Eleanor is in her dotage, sleeping most of the time and hogging whatever sources of warmth are nearby. We have had her since she groomed one of us upon inspecting her at the shelter; I knew it would be her. She is incapable of understanding that any piece of fish entering this house can be shared with, must less destined for, someone else because all fish are destine for her, aren’t they???
Cousin Bruno hails from the Philadelphia branch of the family. He has a thing about this particular table and invariably looks extremely handsome, no matter the day of the week or time of day. Bruno also is picky about visitors: he expects company all of the time yet entirely on his terms. Ah, yes, he’s a cat…

Harry, the unpredictable Harry, stretches that long body to tap a hand for attention at 4 a.m,, thinks the reason one gets up in the middle of the night is to turn on the faucet for his water, and yet is a beautiful guy. Shhh, because he keeps us up all night he is rather finicky about our chatter disturbing his precisous sleep during the day. You can see that Eleanor’s demand for fish is keeping him—er-rather svelte in his dreams.
And this is cousin Oliver who joins the photogenic crew. He rules the roost with incredible energy and beautiful big white gloves on those paws. Oliver is especially prone to sleeping in baskets, again hoping against hope he isn’t growing any bigger.
It’s these bundles of joy that bring much brightness to life. As I sit here a bit low on energy today (wait, retirement means fewer commitments? really? I missed that), I hope each brings you a tad of the incredible joy they bring us.FIN
Me, too. Keep me in my toes, smiling, and yet mystified so often
I needed that today. Thanks for sharing
