What an invigorating day! While the weather is pretty February-ish to my mind, we had our first ActionsCreateConsequences webinar this afternoon. Twenty folks dialed in for an hour on why China would go to war. Security specialists, a retired diplomat, and crucially, ‘real’ people in Fife (Scotland), Peace Glen (Pennsylvania), Naples (Florida), and the home of the World Champion Kansas City Chiefs questioned Dr. Cole. Thanks to each of you who took the time to participate as we all learned from him and from each other. I will forward to recording to those who have so generously contributed financially (but were unable to attend) as a special thank you. I am lining up future webinar topics and speakers so stay tuned! Suggestions and feedback completely welcomed.

I got a couple of reality checks already which go to one of the absolute core issues in teaching: clarify assumptions. In the case of two people this afternoon, the most pertinent questions were: why does Taiwan matter to China? to US? How many of you wonder the same thing but were not there to ask?
