The attached photograph means a great deal to me as I love both pinks annd flowers in paradise. I was lucky enough to fall in love with Hawai’i more than half a lifetime ago.
The breezes today are brutal, dangerous winds on Maui and the Big Island. Fire is destroying towns on the Pacific beaches as alsohappening in Canada, Europe last year, and likely in the American west later this fall. Temperatures in other areas globally continue spiking. Storm destruction is substantially increased when typhoons or floods appear in Ft. Myer’s or Beijing. Minneapolis received 100 inches of snow last ear and parts of California well over double that amount.
Wow.
We had adverts years ago teasing ‘Don’t mess with Mother Nature’ selling some product I can no longer recall. But, I definitely remember the phrase.
Strikes me we crossed the line with Nature so the latter now extracts revenge. It is hard to imagine that revenge will miss some aspect of each and every one of our lives, not merely those lucky enough to get to the sandy shores of our Fiftieth State.
What should we do and why are we sitting around thinking we can ignore the impending tragedy? I, for one, see no indication the variety of forms of environmental revenge will decrease without our actions.
Time most definitely is racing.FIN
From a planetary perspective Mother Earth is not engaged in any malevolent actions against mankind. The recent temperature anomalies are not an isolated event. I will have to find the source, but recently I read an article from a historian who observed that the weather in the early 14th century was abnormal which lead to crop failures, famine, the many dying was made worse by the black plague not to mention that the hundred years war started about that time. Today, we have so much more scientific knowledge with which we can protect ourselves against the fear mongers who foment our communities from within. Yes, disaster may be ahead, but being fearful and acting out or panicking only makes our ability to mitigate adverse situations or remove catastrophes so much less likely. Remain calm and remember in times of difficulty God only requires each of us to "Just exist" because this too will pass away in time, as do all things good and bad in our lives. Stay safe and God bless us all.
