Humbled by you as ever. Thank you. Never heard of mushroom soil. Since I detest mushrooms that is about as good a use as possible.

You are the best. Hugs to both.

Agreed with the mushroom thought but it is magic as an amendment to any soil. Most anywhere will have it- Home Depot or nursery

1. Don't buy plants at Home Depot unless you are really desperate and really examine them carefully

2. Support your local nursery or pop-up stand. They can answer your questions- Home Depot can not.

3. If you don't see what you want, then it is not the season for the plant you want. It's pansy season not petunia season.

4. If you are going to put in that annual garden, research the plant and be ready to fill in the area when it is done blooming. Some annuals such as geranium and petunias will bloom at summer but many won't. And then you will have holes to fill.

5. Splurge and put down a good layer of mushroom soil first on your new garden. The dirt that is there now is garbage.

6. That pretty little flower growing on the sidewalk crack is a WEED!! It's name is Henbit and Latin is Lamium amplexiacaule.( in my book of WEEDS OF THE NORTHEAST) It is EVERYWHERE here at Peach Glen and all I do is rip it out and give it to the chickens. It is an annual and seen mostly in the spring and will disappear in a couple of months.
